Why Become A Back Country Horsemen Member?

At times outnumbered on the trails and at hearings where land use decisions are made, retaining our rights of access and use of back country requires a unified, coordinated effort.  Although most user groups accept equine use, there are some that would like to see equine activities prohibited in wilderness areas and severely limited on public lands.  Join the organization that is working to protect and expand your riding opportunities.  All trail riding enthusiasts are welcome!

The Purposes of this Organization are:

To assist the various government and private agencies in the establishment, maintenance of trails and other back country resources.

To work to ensure that public lands remain open to recreational stock use.

To perpetuate the common sense use of horses and enjoyment of horses in America's back country and wilderness.

To educate and encourage the wise use of back country resources by horsemen and the general public.

To actively involve youth in activities related to our purpose and maintain a family oriented organization.
